Obituary

Wallace Elmer Jones, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, of San Angelo passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023.

Wally, as he was affectionately called, was born May 11, 1959 to Miriam Amanda Watson-Jones and Raymond Wallace Jones in Hobbs, New Mexico whom preceded him in death.

Wally is survived by his wife of 18 years Stacie Brumbaugh Jones of San Angelo, his children Crystal Poole and husband Garrett of Clyde, Eric Brumbaugh and wife Tori of Platte, SD, Seth Jones of San Angelo,  grandsons Jackson and Swade Poole of Clyde and Ryker Brumbaugh of Platte, SD.

Wally had a large extended family with five siblings: sister Virginia Watson of Ferris, TX, sister Mary Hellen Craven of Gilmer, Tx, brother Timmy Watson of Avery, TX, sister Linda Bushman of St. George, UT and brother Terry Watson of Jerome, ID. Wally also had numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and two surviving aunts on his mother's side.

After an extended employment with the Strickland and Knight company out of Big Spring, Wally became the Vice president of the Bridge and Structure Division of Reece Albert INC. from April 18, 2005 until the time of his passing.  Wally was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Raised in the oil fields and farmlands of Seminole, TX, Wally was an avid outdoorsman. He spent many trips afield looking for arrowheads with quite a few very impressive finds. He loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed water skiing in the warm months and snow skiing in the winter. He loved his outdoor toys and enjoyed ATV’s, boats and motorcycles. Wally was a very devoted husband, father, brother, and very proud grandfather and maintained lifelong friendships

He was loved by his family, friends and co-workers and was blessed with more nicknames such as Gator and Papa Wally. He was always willing to go the extra mile and offered support to many.  He was a fierce protector of his family and an avid second amendment supporter.  He will be missed by many.
