Sandra Kindle-Ewing Obituary

Sandra Lee Kindle Ewing, (known to many as either Sandy, to her closest friends, and “J.R.” back in her bus driving days), went to join the Lord, our Savior, September 28, 2021 at the age of 68.

Sandra L Ewing was born January 17, 1953 in Childress, TX to Clyde and Elois Kindle. She graduated Odessa High School in 1971 where she met the love of her life, Donald Ewing. They married August 1, 1970, a year before her graduation, where they spent the last 49 years together before Donald's passing in 2019. Sandra raised three children, Kindle Scott, Marcy and Cassandra, while being a supportive wife to Donald while he was in the Navy from 1973-1979. Sandra was an Odessa, Tx resident for 36 years where she established herself as a well known seamstress and earned respect from the younger kids when she worked for ECISD as a bus driver. She enjoyed involving herself in her children’s school activities when she could, loved playing the piano, and enjoyed crafts that seemed to always involve a needle…sewing and cross stitching were always a favorite and she excelled at it.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Donald H Ewing, father, grandparents, numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, one Nephew, and one Granddaughter.

She is survived by her son, Kindle Scott Ewing and wife Sheila and their five children; two daughters, Marcy Ryan Hill and husband Daniel and their eight children, and Cassandra Luann Ewing and her four children; along with three great-grandchildren, her mother, Elois Kindle, three sisters, Diane Cheaney, Faye Tucker, and Lynette Luedecke, and numerous others, whether they are family or friend.

Services will be held at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home, 141 E 3rd Street, Baird, Texas, 79504 at 11:00AM on October 8, 2021. A dinner is to follow at the First Presbyterian Church in Baird. Sandra chose to be cremated and will rest with her soulmate, Donald Ewing, at the Abilene Veteran Cemetery. -

“Our Father who art in Heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven….”
