Obituary

Noah Alexander Smedley of Baird went to be with the Lord during the early morning hours Friday, July 21, 2023, at the age of 78.

Noah was born February 14, 1945 in Cross Plains to Robert Lee and Roberta Elliott Smedley. He served our country in both the Air Force and Navy, being awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Navy Unit Commendation Award.  He was a simple man, who lived a simple life in a small town.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mae Dell Smedley and his brother R.L. Smedley.

Survivors include daughter Christina Johnston and husband William of Arlington; son Daniel Smedley and wife Kristen of Baird; grandchildren Ashley Batjer of Raliegh, NC, Paris Batjer of Denver, CO; Jadyn Smedley and Noah Alexander Smedley III of Baird: sisters Nelda Wilkinson of Winchester, TN and Shelia Webb of Pampa; nieces Julie Woodis of Winchester, TN and Stacy Taylor of Chico; and nephew Jason Wilkinson of Allen.

Graveside services will be 2:30 Monday, July 24, 2023 at Ross Cemetery Annex in Baird, with Bruce Mercer officiating.
