Myrna (Gatlin) Watson

Myrna Ray Watson of Baird left this life in the early morning hours Thursday, January 6, 2022, at the age of 82.

Myrna was born August 14, 1939 in Edhube, Texas to Elvie Ray and Frances Jewel Edwards Gatlin.  She graduated from Odessa High School, and later married Carlton Watson.  They were married 44 years. She enjoyed bowling and was a pet lover.  She worked for Lone Star Gas and Corley-Wetsel Freightliner.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandson, Harrison Harding; and a great-granddaughter, Dixie Lyn McElrath.

She is survived by her husband, Carlton, of Baird; children Martha and Jay Estes of Abilene, Dianne and Rick Payne of Port Aransas, and Don and Pam McElrath of Abilene; 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, January 7, 2022, at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home, 141 E. 3rd Street in Baird.  The family will hold a private graveside service on Saturday, January 8, 2022.
