Louise (Lynn) Smith

Louise (Lynn) Smith, age 85. passed from this life July 18, 2024 in Abilene, TX at Hendrick Medical Center North. She was born on August 21, 1938 in Hickman County, TN to Needam Bryant George Dewey Lynn and Etna V. “Annie” (Dean) Lynn.

Louise attended school in Centerville, TN. She later became a Certified Nurse Aide. She married Paul “Buddy” Chandler in 1957 and together they spent 43 beautiful years together before his passing in October of 2000. She loved taking care of others and was a CNA for over 35 years. Louise enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, crocheting, karaoke, dancing, genealogy, researching, writing poems, cooking and attending church at Wylie Church of Christ in Abilene.

Louise had a heart of gold and a contagious smile. She was full of laughter and truly had a love for singing and dancing. She will be missed dearly by all.

She was greeted at the pearly gates by her husband: Paul “Buddy” Chandler; parents: Needam and Etna Lynn; one sister: Jean Camp and one brother: Bill Lynn.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Cathy Chandler of Abilene, TX and Linda and Glenda Chandler of Abilene, TX; three grandchildren: Mandy, Kayla and Krystina; two great-granddaughters, three great-grandsons, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. 

Family and friend visitation is scheduled from 6-8pm, Friday, June 19, 2024 at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home with Pastor Coy Balwin officiating. Louise will be laid to rest with Buddy at Ross Cemetery Annex directly following services. Arrangements are entrusted to Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home in Baird.
