Obituary
Willie Lane Dillard of Baird left this life Thursday, October 20, 2022, at the age of 91.
Lane was born February 24, 1931 in Coleman, Texas, to McLane and Minnie Avery Dillard. He married Lois Wood July 21, 1989, blending their families, and making their home in Baird. Lane served on the Baird Volunteer Fire Department as one of the oldest members for over 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ralph Honrud; daughter in law Libby Dillard; a sister, Betty Jo Itson; and a brother, Tommy Dillard.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lois Dillard; three daughters, Shirley Gillam and husband Jim of California, Carrie Dillard of California, and Christena Honrud Hart and husband Keith of Waxahachie; four sons, Doug Dillard of California, Johnny Dillard of Colorado, Sam Dillard and wife Geri of Clyde, and Jason Honrud and wife Lisa of Waxahachie; one brother, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home, 141 E. 3rd Street in Baird. Lane will be buried in Coleman City Cemetery.
