Judy Gail Sprouse Joseph passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at her home in Dale, Texas at the age of 70.
Judy was born July 5, 1955 in Iraan, Texas to Boyd Lynn and Frankie Hock Sprouse. She married Joe A. Joseph III, and they were together for 30 years. They did not have any children together. so Judy shared her three children with him, along with all the grandbabies.
She loved boating and fishing and preferred live bait over lure ...she also enjoyed trot lines and jug fishing. She enjoyed hunting, whether it was deer, hog, quail or alligators. She loved to compete at local turkey shoots, usually placing first or second.
One of her greatest pleasures was driving a racecar one or two nights a week. She started out on a quarter mile racetrack in Austin on Fridays. They would get home with just enough time to change the rear end in the car, get a shower and set of fresh clothes, and head to San Antonio to the half mile track there. Twice a year they would go to Blinn/ College Station to the two-mile track. She drove professionally for nine years and stayed in the top 10 in points for her class for eight of those nine years... Yosemite Sam was her mascot, painted with 44's drawn on the hood of her car because 44 was her number. She used to say that racing was when she felt the freest.
Judy loved life and lived it to the fullest. She loved holidays and being around family and friends as much as possible.
Judy is survived by her mother Frankie Sprouse of Baird; husband of 30 years Joe A. Joseph III; daughter Wanda M. Henderson-Havard of Red Rock; son Joshua Jerome Parks of Smithville; Zachery Lynn Parks of Bastrop; brothers Larry (Gloria) Sprouse of Odessa and Kenneth Sprouse of Houston; nieces and nephews Lisa Lazono of Baird, Tammy Rosas of Houston, Billy Ray Sprouse of Houston, Lynell Caler of Monahans, Royce Sprouse, Terry Sprouse of New Mexico, Scotty Sprouse, Missy of Odessa, Micheal Earl of Odessa, Lana Glen, Ben and Chad Granger and many other great nieces and nephews.
