Jewell (Essary) Kelly

Jewell Kelly of Baird went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at the age of 87.

Jewell was born August 2, 1933 in Hamlin to Bill and Grace Huddleston Essary.  She attended Hamlin schools and later married Mickey Kelly. The couple enjoyed 72 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2019.  Jewell was an interior decorator, and loved sewing, embroidery, quilting and making draperies.

She had a love of horses and her dog Concha.  She had a servant’s heart, helping over 150 foster kids who lived with the family over the years.

Jewell is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Mickey.  She is survived by her children, Lyn and Mike Walker, Foy and Marie Kelly, and Gwen and Marvin Calvin, all of Baird; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home, 141 E. 3rd Street in Baird.
