Obituary

Ismael C. Rodriguez left this life Saturday, July 4, 2020, in Haskell, Texas at the age of 56.

Ismael was born March 8, 1964 in Fort Worth, Texas to Leopoldo and Bentura Martinez Rodriguez.  He attended school in Baird, where he played football for the Bears. Ismael was a certified mechanic, and could do all types of home remodeling, from floors to concrete. 

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing and playing pool, but his real passion was his family and friends. Ismael never met a stranger.  He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and a friend to everyone.  He will be missed by many and was loved by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter, Sylvia Dawn McRae.

Ismael is survived by his loving girlfriend, Evelyn Swartz; his sons, Cameron McRae, Steven Turner, Buster McRae and wife RayAnn, Leopoldo Rodriguez, Ismael “Poppy” Rodriguez, Jr., Thomas Glaze, Nick Glaze and Arturo Gomez; his daughters Lindsey Taylor and husband Jonathan, Marinoel Turner, Lisa Rodriguez, Nicole Rodriguez, and Jessica Rodriguez and partner Alyssa Bradford.  He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home Chapel, 141 E. Third in Baird, with Brian Massey of Houses for Healing, officiating.  Following the service, Ismael will be laid to rest with his parents at Ross Cemetery Annex.

 Due to the recent executive order by the Governor, those attending the service, who do not meet the listed exemptions, are required to wear facial coverings and social distancing is encouraged.  The capacity of the chapel will be limited due to current guidelines.
