Elizabeth “Lib” McDaniel

Elizabeth McDaniel passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the age of 92.

Lib, as she was known to her friends and family, was born December 30, 1930 to Charles Homer (C.H.) and Nancy Fay Ray Bond. She married James M. McDaniel August 22, 1948. She worked for the Timex Corporation of Abilene for a time, and later retired from Abilene State School. She played piano for Southside Baptist Church in Clyde.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.M. McDaniel, parents C.H. And Nancy Ray Bond, sister Jessie Powell and son-in-law Joe Girard.

Survivors include a sister, Joyce Robinson of Tampa, Florida; daughter Jamie Saunders and husband Ric of Clyde; son Bob McDaniel and wife Diane of Katy; daughter Ray Girard of Alexandria, Louisiana; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather and share stories and memories of Lib.  She will be laid to rest in Ross Cemetery Spencer Price Addition in Baird.
