Edmond Wayne Carpenter

Edmond Wayne Carpenter of Abilene passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2023, at the age of 76. 

Wayne was born July 7, 1946 in Decatur, Texas, to Rev. Edmond West and Wanna Faye (Burchard) Carpenter.  He married Georgia Lou Foster January 29, 1966. They later remarried in 2006.  He worked as a bulldozer operator, retiring in 2022 from Orbit Construction.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Lou Carpenter of Abilene; daughter and son-in-law Gloria Ann and Joe Holbrook; son Brian Wayne Carpenter; daughter Patricia Annette Smith; and stepson John Daniel Miller; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Henry West Carpenter.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 16, 2023, at New Harp Cemetery northeast of Alvord, Texas.  Take CR 1655 north out of Alvord. Turn onto New Harp Loop to the Cemetery.
