Billy Holland Obituary

Billy Joe died Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 surrounded by his family in Baird, Texas. He was born December 20th, 1947 in McKinney, Texas to Bill and Sylvia Holland.

Billy Joe graduated from Tom Bean High School in 1966. In his early years, Billy Joe enjoyed breaking horses and rodeoing. He was a skilled electrician and carpenter. Billy Joe spent much of his time enjoying the outdoors hunting raccoons and squirrels. He lived in Baird for more than 40 years, raising animals of all kinds on his farm. Billy Joe enjoyed reaping the rewards of his farm, and was known to have fresh eggs in the pockets of his shirt (right next to his trusted flip phone). He spent countless hours in the sale barns of the big country and never passed on a good deal. In the evenings, Billy Joe enjoyed entertaining friends on his porch, cooking fried chicken in his cast iron skillet and sharing wild stories. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Sylvia Holland. He is survived by his sisters Barbara Coleman and Lynda Leake and husband Brian Roughton; his daughters, Kelley Shuford and husband Jimmy Shuford; Courtnaye Kelly and husband Dave Kelly; Donna Miller and husband Marc Miller; his nephew Bart Bruton; his beloved Holland cousins; grandchildren London Diller, Lakyn Diller, Leif and wife Amelia Diller, Jade Kelly, Carson Kelly, Lydia and husband Michael Osterman, Landon Miller; Great Grandchildren Theodore, Willow and Heidi Osterman.

A graveside memorial will be held at 10:00 AM Sunday August 11, 2024, at Ross Cemetery Spencer Price Addition in Baird.
