Betty Monsey

Betty Lee Monsey, 75, died May 4, 2020 at Hendrick Hospice Care.  She was born May 16, 1944 in Spur, Texas to parents Charlie Lee and Margaret Helen Baker.  She attended Lubbock High School and later received her GED.

Betty married Leslie B. Monsey on December 30, 1961. She worked for Boone Publications, Bearing Supply, Lockheed, and was a bus driver for Clyde I.S.D.

She enjoyed painting, sewing, garage sales, gardening and playing with her grandkids. She will be remembered as kind, caring, inspiring, having a positive outlook and being a great cook.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Margaret Baker; sisters Peggy Gray and Nancy Serpa.

She is survived by her husband Leslie; daughters Marcy Choate and husband Dan, and Leslee Moore; son Brian Monsey and wife Bobbi; grandchildren Kelci Choate, Austin Choate, Seth Moore, Dustin Moore, Jami Monsey, Cassi Jo Monsey and Wendi Monsey;  great grandchildren Rhett Sears, Bristol Sears and Kinsley Monsey.

Family request memorials be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
