Patsy Ann Bowers Bradley of Abilene went to be with her Savior Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at the age of 84.
Ann, as she was known to friends and family, was born July 13, 1936 in Coleman, Texas to J.B. Bowers, Sr. and Juanita Stanphil Bowers. She attended Coleman High School, graduating in 1954. Ann married in 1955 and had three loving children.
She worked 28 years for AISD as a librarian and then as a Health Extender, where she made every one, especially every child, she served in the school system feel special and loved. No one was ever left behind.
Ann loved her grandchildren most of all, and had a hand in raising each of them. She loved to travel the mountains and nice rides in the country. She was an excellent cook and baker and taught her children and grandchildren to do the same.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandmother, Ethel Stanphil, and grandfather, W.T. Stanphil; and sister Sylbia Bowers Ransberger.
She is survived by her son, Greg Bradley and wife Gay Nell; daughters Marcia Bradley Valdez and husband Sylvester, and Ruth Ann Bradley Houghton and husband Danny; grandchildren Stephanie Bradley Fryer and husband Gates, Emily Valdez Phelps and husband Cole, John Mark Valdez, Jacob Houghton, and Caitlyn Houghton; great-grandaughter, Ella Ann Phelps;and a brother, J.B. Bowers, Jr.
Graveside services under the direction of Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Burkett Cemetery, Hwy 206 between Cross Plains and Coleman. Family will gather at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home, 141 E. 3rd Street in Baird, at 2:00 PM Sunday for a short visitation time before proceeding to the Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Bradley, Sylvester Valdez, Danny Houghton, John Mark Valdez, Jacob Houghton, Cole Phelps and Bryan Vela.
The family suggests memorials to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
