Richard D. Danielsen

Richard D.Danielsen of Baird went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, January 3, 2020, at the age of 76.

Richard was born November 11, 1943 in Baird to Finn A. and Juanita Johnson Danielsen. He graduated from Baird High School, and attended McMurry College in Abilene.  After college, he served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1971.  Richard worked for the U.S. Postal Service, as an accountant for a hotel chain in the metroplex, and at Baird Drive-In Grocery. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Baird, and volunteered at Kid's Club at First United Methodist Church in Baird.

He enjoyed vacationing in New Mexico, weaving, bead work, gardening, and was a pianist and artist.  His weaving talents were unsurpassed.  Richard was a very caring and generous man.  He was always a friend to others and loved the time he spent with family.  Richard loved the outdoors and his dog, Dino.  They would walk for blocks.

Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is survived by cousins Elaine Moore and husband Bill of Novice; Nancy Berry and husband Mike of Coleman; Pat Dean McKennon, Jr.; Renea McGee Hargrove; Kelly Downey-Stewart (Trey); Doug Moore (Stephanie); Laurie Stilwell (Tom); Kerry Slayton (Buddy); Susanna Flores (Steve); Steven Johnson (Wendy); and numerous third and fourth cousins.

Visitation will be 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home, 141 E. Third in Baird. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 6, 2020 at First Presbyterian Church of Baird.  Burial will be at Ross Cemetery Annex.
